Inches Per Minute to Inches Per Revolution

To Calculate IPR (Inches Per Revolution) when IPM (Inches Per Minute) and RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) are known, Use the Formula Below:

IPR (Inches Per Revolution) = IPM (Inches Per Minute) ÷ RPM (Revolutions Per Minute

Example: You are feeding at 16.8 IPM at 2800 RPM

16.8 IPM ÷ 2800 RPM = .006 IPR (Inches Per Revolution)


Inches Per Revolution to Inches Per Minute

To Convert IPR (Inches Per Revolution) to IPM (Inches Per Minute) when IPR (Inches Per Revolution) and RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) are known, Use the Formula Below:

IPM (Inches Per Minute) = IPR (Inches Per Revolution) x RPM (Revolutions Per Minute)

Example: You are feeding at .004 IPR at 5900 RPM

.004 IPR x 5900 RPM = 23.6 IPM


Inches Per Tooth to Inches Per Minute

To Calculate IPM (Inches Per Minute) when FPT (Feed Per Tooth) and T (Number of Teeth of Cutter) and RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) are known, Use the Formula Below:

IPM (Inches Per Minute) = FPT (Feed Per Tooth) x T (Number of Teeth of Cutter) x RPM (Revolutions Per Minute)

Example: You have a cutter with 4 teeth turning at a 2500 RPM and feeding at .002” per tooth.

4 T x 2500 RPM x .002 FPT = 20 IPM (Inches Per Minute)


Inches Per Minute to Inches Per Tooth

To Calculate IPT (Inches Per Tooth) when IPM (Inches Per Minute) and RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) and T (Number of Teeth of Cutter) are known, Use the Formula Below:

IPT (Inches Per Tooth) = IPM (Inches Per Minute) ÷ (RPM x T)

Example: You are feeding at 22.5 IPM at 4700 RPM with a cutter with 8 teeth or flutes

22.5 IPM ÷ (4700 x 8) = 22.5 ÷ 37600 = .0006 IPT (Inches Per Tooth)


Inches Per Revolution to Millimeters Per Revolution

To Convert IPR (Inches Per Revolution) to MMPR (Millimeters Per Revolution) Use the Formula Below:

MMPR (Millimeters Per Revolution) = IPR (Inches Per Revolution) x 25.4

Example: To convert .009 IPR to MMPR

.012 IPR x 25.4 = .3048 MMPR (Millimeters Per Revolution)

{(IPM ÷ Cut Diameter in Inches) x 114.5916} = Degrees Per Minute

Example:

You want to make a cut on a Rotary Axis of a 5.0” Diameter at 18.0 IPM

18.0 ÷ 5.0 = 3.6 x 114.5916 = 412.5298 Degrees Per Minute Feed Rate


Millimeters Per Minute to Degrees Per Minute Formula:

MMPM = (Millimeters Per Minute)

{(MMPM ÷ Cut Diameter in Millimeters) x 114.5916} = Degrees Per Minute

Example:

You want to make a cut on a Rotary Axis of a 80.0mm Diameter at 62.0 MMPM

62.0 ÷ 80.0 = .775 x 114.5916 = 88.8085 Degrees Per Minute Feed Rate


Degrees Per Minute to Inches Per Minute Formula:

IPM = (Inches Per Minute)

{(Degrees Per Minute x Cut Diameter in Inches) ÷ 114.5916} = Inches Per Minute

Example:

You are Making a 5.0” Diameter Cut at 236 Degrees Per Minute

5.0 x 236 = 1180 ÷ 114.5916 = 10.2974 Inches Per Minute Feed Rate


Degrees Per Minute to Millimeters Per Minute Formula:

MMPM = (Millimeters Per Minute)

{(Degrees Per Minute x Cut Diameter in Millimeters) ÷ 114.5916} = Millimeters Per Minute

Example:

You are Making a 128.5mm Diameter Cut at 156.0 Degrees Per Minute

128.5 x 156.0 = 20046 ÷ 114.5916 = 174.9343 Millimeters Per Minute Feed Rate
